Affiliated with Malaysia’s Strategic Information and Research Development Center, Zawawi Ibrahim is currently working as Professor of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and the Institute of Asian Studies at University Brunei Darussalam (UBD). A Malaysian citizen, Zawawi earned his PhD in Social Anthropology from Monash University, Melbourne.
In GREASE Zawawi is conducting case studies on radicalisation and resilience with a special focus on Malaysia.
Imran Rasid

Imran bin Mohd Rasid is a graduate student and a Research Fellow at Strategic Information & Research Development Centre, Malaysia. His area of research includes critical theory, Malaysian political history, global political economy, and the phenomenon of transnational and translocal religio-political movements. He has formerly served as Research Analyst for Islamic Renaissance Front, an Islamic Think Tank that works to promote progressive Islamic discourses in Malaysia. His research has been presented in several academic conferences, and some were published as book chapters. He has also co-founded an organisastion called Imagined Malaysia, a research group that strive to push for greater historical literacy in Malaysia.
As part of the GREASE project, Imran will be researching on case studies on radicalisation and resilience with a special focus on Malaysia.
